Next to the incomparable setting of the Poblet Monastery and Nature Reserve, we have transformed a former spa complex, Villa Engracia (founded in 1888), into a Rural Tourism complex with activities to suit all tastes and age groups.We offer spacious and fully equipped facilities unique to this area and adapted to modern standards. We also organise cultural and adventure activities. All set in attractive natural surroundings.

Villa Engracia is located in the small hamlet of Les Masies de Poblet, which belongs to the municipality of L'Espluga de Francolí and lies within the Poblet Nature Reserve, at the foot of the Prades Mountains. It lies just 500 metres from the Monastery of Poblet. This protected and well-conserved area is part of the district of La Conca de Barberà, in inland Tarragona (Catalonia).

Villa Engracia offers welcoming accommodation for your holidays, weekends, and short breaks. We have 29 spacious, fully equipped, self-contained apartments, catering for 2 to 8 persons, and 13 rooms in the emblematic main building of the former spa complex.

Villa Engracia had its golden age in the 19th century, when the Catalan aristocracy frequented the spa complex to relax and bathe in its therapeutic waters. In addition, the area's climate makes it ideal for relief from respiratory illnesses. The complex was one of the favourite retreats of the family of Alfonso XIII, and in 1926, when invited by the Tarragona Provincial Council to visit Poblet, he even stopped by for lunch.The complex still conserves some elements from that period, such as the Francolí building, the Chapel, the Font del Ferro and the thermal baths area.

Rooms:
The main building has been used to house the double rooms, as well as some of the indoor communal areas such as the main hall and the dining room. In the main hall, situated on the ground floor, there is a large relaxation area, equipped with a pool table, a children's playroom, a reading and television room, and a small area with information on the district and its surroundings. There are 13 double rooms, of which 7 have their own bathroom and 6 share bathrooms. All the rooms have heating and face outwards to offer magnificent views. One of the highlights of the communal areas is the dining room, which is on the ground floor. It is very welcoming and cosy; and it offers a delicious buffet breakfast.

Apartments
We invite you to enjoy our self-contained rural apartments. There are 29 in total, each catering for between 2 and 8 persons. Our accommodations are always spacious and with outside views and plenty of natural light. They are fully equipped, including bed linen, kitchen utensils, a lounge-diner with an open fire and television, heating and a full bathroom.

Apartments for 8 persons also have an additional washroom. All apartments have their own terrace with chairs and tables. Spacious lounge in every apartment. We offer a combination of double-bedded and twin-bedded rooms. Our bedrooms are designed for optimal relaxation. The apartments are distributed in several independent buildings and their windows and terraces offer splendid view of the garden, the neighbouring forest, and the vineyards that surround the Monastery of Poblet.

Facilities
The communal facilities include a 25 m outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, a sports centre, table tennis, a frontón court, and a bar with terrace. From the gardens that surround Villa Engracia, you can take any one of numerous paths to explore the adjacent forest, which has trees that are centuries old. There are also routes that form the starting points for excursions to the Prades Mountains and the Poblet Nature Reserve itself. The features that we maintain and that date from past eras, offer the place a nostalgic touch. Examples are the Font del Ferro, which can be accessed via the garden, and the old chapel, attached to the main building. For the little ones, we have an attractive children's play area, within view of the apartments. We also offer numerous games areas and sports facilities, all contained within the Villa Engracia complex. Activities Amongst the different excursions that can be taken in the immediately surrounding area, we would highlight the Mirador de la Pena, the valley of Castellfollit, the Santísima Trinidad hermitage, the forest of Poblet and the Castle of Milmanda. In addition, just 500 m. from Villa Engracia there is a horse-riding centre. For the more intrepid, just 1 Km. from Villa Engracia there is a centre that organises adventure activities, including rock-climbing, flying fox and forest orienteering techniques. There are also mountain bike and trekking circuits in the mountains of Poblet. The range of cultural activities offered is varied: the route of the Cistercian Monasteries, the mediaeval walled site of Montblanc, the route of the modernist wineries, the city of Tarragona, etc. They are characterised by their fine, golden sand and their pine groves that almost reach the shoreline. There are beaches boasting every service, along with totally unspoilt beaches. Just 30 minutes from Villa Engracia are the numerous beaches of Tarragona's Costa Dorada, such as La Mora and Waikiki.
